Dr. Desdemona Cardoza

Desdemona Cardoza served as the Director of Institutional Research at Cal State Los Angeles for two years. Subsequently as Assistant Vice President for Information Resources Management and Vice President for Information Resources Management, she oversaw that department for 12 years. She also served as Dean of the College of Natural and Social Sciences and Provost. She is a faculty member in the Department of Psychology and currently works as a Special Consultant at the Office of the Chancellor for the California State University System. She has been involved in the development and implementation for the Student Success Dashboard that supported the 2009 CSU Graduation Initiative as well as the Graduation Initiative 2025. Her primary role has been to develop the predictive analytic models in the Dashboard which are designed to assist campuses in gauging progress toward achieving their graduation and achievement gap closing goals.
