Dr. Nele Hempel-Lamer joined the California State University System as a German Studies professor at Long Beach State University in 2006. She has since also served the campus as Director of the University Honors Program and as Interim Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Studies. She completed the university’s Data Fellows and Leadership Fellows programs and was twice chosen as “Most Valuable Professor” in the College of Liberal Arts.
Dr. Hempel-Lamer is the founding director of the Certificate Program in Student Success Analytics. She enjoys actively engaging with the Certificate Program learning community and sharing her faculty and administrator perspectives on evidence-based and equity-minded decision-making on behalf of the students in the CSU and beyond.
