About Ms. Bravo Arias

Priscilla Bravo Arias is an Assistant Professor of Microbiology and currently serves as the Cultural Curriculum Audit Coordinator at Long Beach City College. She is a first generation, community college transfer student who earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Mount St. Mary’s College. While earning her Masters degree in Biology at CSULB, Ms. Bravo Arias developed a passion for equity work and immersed herself in fellowships and programs that aimed to provide other first generation students with resources for academic success. Teaching her students that science is for everyone, she firmly believes in making her microbiology courses culturally relevant and equitable for all students.

As the Cultural Curriculum Audit Coordinator, she is proud and honored to lead the oversight of this student equity focused program for faculty. The Cultural Curriculum Audit has guided more than 300 faculty participants to redesign their course through an equity lens.
